Tim is right. The naga julokia (also known as the ghost pepper) was the worlds hottest pepper, coming in at around 1 million scoville units. Habaneros highest was 850,000 units. The new king in town is the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, with a range of 1.2 million scoville units to as high as 2 million units. For a gauge, raw jalapeños max out at 8,000 scoville units. So basically, the scorpion is something over 400 times hotter than Tabasco! I love hot and spicy, but I am never going near any of these bad boys.

We picked up both Aphrodite and Seduction and have barely been able to wait until today to pop them! We're looking forward to pairing the Aphrodite with some spicy Thai for dinner, then indulging in cheesecake and various chocolates with Seduction. Can't friggin' wait!

I know this is a late post but I think it can be reolld over to 2012 and beyond. Calistoga holds their annual “Winter in the Wineries; a passport event whichtakes place December 2-February 3rd. You can enjoy tours, tastings and the chanceto meet winemakers at sixteen local wineries in Calistoga. The passport also entitlesyou to special offers at participating restaurants and lodgings. I believe the ticketsare $40 per person and can be purchased through the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce.

I know these posts are from a few months ago, but, you can find the Genesis Meritage 2007 at Bev-Mo. I just bought it on the 5 cent wine sale. $15.99 for the first bottle, 5 cents for the second. Must buy two. Hope this helps someone!

You can try looking on the importer website up to 50 miles around your zip code or find out who the distributor is and ask your favorite wine shop to order it for you.

I called the Downtown Partnership that keeps up with the market. They told me the mix varies from time to time to keep new places in rotation. Yes, the Greek folks will be back, but they didn't know how soon. Sorry, that's kind of a "gray'' answer but it's better than no answer.

The answers to the lesson plans come right out of the Study Guide. That will help you alot. Know your maps! Be able to close your eyes & see each Country and the important appelations; important red and white grapes. Hot, warm & cool growing areas. Know the minutia. Some questions you go, "Really?" Good luck to you!!!

Think about lobster for valentine's diner? Did you realize although a number of groups of crustaceans are classified as lobsters, the clawed lobsters are most often linked to the name. The nearest relatives of clawed lobsters are the reef lobsters and the three families of freshwater crayfish. Order by two:30 p.m. EST and get your own seafood meal at your home tomorrow, seriously!
