Red wine fights tooth decay

Yes, another study suggests additional ways wine can improve your health. Seems to be a trend. This time, it’s mouth health. Riding on the discovery last year by American scientists — who revealed the seeds and skins of wine grapes helps prevent bacteria from binding with tooth enamel — researchers at Italy’s Pavia University conducted experiments using red wine, but removed the alcohol to rule out its affects (bummer, huh?). They found similar results, but also that red wine keeps the bacteria from forming something called “biofilm” on the tooth’s surface. Read more.

    Retired dentist with 30+ years of belonging to a all “dental” wine club…teeth have never been a problem…I drink mostly red,3-4 times/week….nice to know that the wine may have been a preventive factor in oral health…
