An exceptional effort on the part of Beringer, who frankly hasn’t surprised me in years. This affordable pinot has classic flavors of musty earth and candied cherry, as well as strong coffee and tart raspberry. Acids aren’t too prominent, but this wine will complement many dishes. Quite inexpensive for the quality. 4 stars out of 5. Sweetness=2 out of 10 (dry to sweet). $20
