Pinot Blanc is one of those obscure grapes people hear about but don’t get to taste very often. Originally from the Alsace region in France, the grape sports tart acidity and citrus but tastes full bodied like a chardonnay. This Oregon version has pear, lime and green herb flavors with a refreshing mineral finish. Decent value too. 3.5 stars out of 5. Sweetness=2 out of 10 (dry to sweet). $14

The Rath is 5 years old,and Dick Erath sold his facility, not his vineyards to a corporation a while back. can you find this wine, and will any recent vintage be related to this one.?
Ted: Erath absolutely still makes Pinot Blanc, still sourced from Willamette Valley. Current vintage is 2010. I haven’t tried it in recent years though.
