The wine selection at Sam’s Club is an ever-changing array. Since I can’t resist ogling wine at a store, I gleefully skip to the display when we head over to grab huge quantities of paper goods (and their kick-ass smoked salmon). My best picks there (at the location on South Dale Mabry south of Gandy — they could vary at other locations.)
Black Box 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, $17.62. Fear the box, you say? You shouldn’t… boxed wines have improved in quality and many other wineries are thinking inside the box these days. Four bottles for $18? Hard to beat that. Read more about boxed wines
Coppola 2007 Claret, $14.88. Solid cabernet blend.
Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Eroica , $19.26. Washington State riesling, made by a German. Good combo.
Querceto 2005 Chianti Riserva,$ 21.12. For fans of the earthy old world style of Chianti. Pricey but worth it.
Chateau St Jean 2008 Chardonnay Sonoma, $10.23. Not a blow-your-socks-off wine, but a consistent, go-to bottle.
